Cascina Elena was born with its first harvest in 2020 in a small natural amphitheater in the middle of the Langa that runs from San Donato di Mango down to Rocchetta Belbo.
The vineyards spread out over 4,5 ht divided into small terraces mostly planted in the late 60s and early 00s,
each with its own story to tell.
We are 500 m.a.s.l. on limestone soils, rich in silt and very fine sand, which we manage according to organic principles, working with light machinery to respect the delicate balance of these hills made of ridges and dry stone walls. Our vineyards are in a single cluster surrounded by woods, and this guarantees us biodiversity and protection from pesticide contamination.
What we try to do is accompany our grapes along their path without intervening, letting the terroir express itself.
In 2021 we built a theater in the forest where we host cultural events with km0.

Alberto is a true “trifulau”, he says he has been searching for truffles in our hills since he was 6 years old. His family has lived in the farmhouse next door for many generations.
Accompanying him is Rocco, his faithful Lagotto Romagnolo.
Come with us, in the company of Rocco and Alberto, on the hunt for the fine black truffle!
The package includes:
● one-hour trekking among the paths of our woods, during which Alberto will explain the fundamentals of the trifulau.
● tasting of our wines and a rich platter of km0 artisanal products
*the experience is a real truffle hunt, since truffles are a “spontaneous” product we cannot guarantee their finding.*

This winery is well worth the trip up the mountain. The proprietor, Filippo, is passionate about organic and natural wines that showcase the terroir. The Dintralcio, Makede, and Romeo wines not to be missed. Be sure to ask him for the stories behind the wine names. He is able to provide tours and tastings in both English and Italian. The cantina building is modern and fits into the surroundings with a spectacular view out of the tasting room into the valley and on to the production floor. There is an ampitheater outside and the Cascina hosts events with a music, food, and of course wines.
